Now, I don't want to overwhelm anyone with this project, so each day's task should be easily completed after work. They are all small projects that shouldn't take more than an hour. If you're not able to follow the calendar to a "T", don't beat yourself up about it! You must have a life also! There will be many "Free Days" where you can finish a project from the day before, or just relax and enjoy the work you have already accomplished!
While you are going through each drawer, cabinet, and closet, keep a box and a trash can next to you. The box will be for donations. Immediately throw anything that you haven't used in the last 6 months and will not use in the next 6 months into one of these two places! If you haven't used it in a year, you probably don't need it and you can free up space for things you are actually going to use. Yes, you may feel you are being ruthless or wasteful sometimes, but that is what the donation box is for!
Don't think of getting rid of these things as wasted money. Think of them as no longer being useful to you. If something isn't useful to you, why would you keep it?
Instead of tearing apart the whole house, we'll go through rooms one by one. Let's start with the easiest room to organize: The Bathroom.
Now I am going to do something really gross: Show you my unclean home....
I call it unclean because I clean the surfaces on a regular basis so it's not really dirty, but more cluttered.
Lots of clutter...
Yes, that is my son's bath toy on the counter...
These are my before photos...
This is my cupboard for sheets, towels, cleaning rags, and extra bathroom items. Very unorganized!
Under the sink...
Our medicine cabinet isn't too bad, but it could use a little attention.
I can't tell you how excited I am to follow this calendar and show you my after photos!
*Didn't realize the writing would be so blurry! I will fix it and get the new calendar up soon!
